Life and changes over the last 15 months…

Well life has definitely been different over the last 15 months and the hubster and I had our ups and downs, laughter and tears!

  • We got repatriated back to the UK from Greece via Germany – thanks to Thomas Cook πŸ›©
  • Had an amazing week in Hong Kong walking miles every day exploring the city πŸ‰
  • Had 5 holidays cancelled due to COVID-19 🌝
  • Virtually attended two Galaxy Cons with William Shatner (Captain Kirk) and Henry Wilkner (The Fonz) and Lee Majors and Lindsay Wagner (Bionic man and woman) πŸ––
  • Struggled to work from home as my home is my home and not a workplace 🏠
  • Walked 82 miles to raise money for the British Red Cross πŸšΆβ€β™€οΈ
  • Used TouchNote to send postcards to the family – really like sending proper post and receiving a letter ✍
  • Rediscovered how much I like Corona beer 🍻
  • Remembering daily for the last 7 years how much I miss my Dad πŸ‘€
  • Hubster has been off work since March, now furloughed and has become the ultimate domestic god and his bread is worth fighting for 😘
  • Realising how amazing my work colleagues are during the pandemic but they were already amazing πŸ˜‡
  • Crowdfunded several book projects through Unbound https://unbound.com/
  • Watched more movies at home this year and would recommend 1917, A Call to Spy and Enola Holmes🍿
  • Enjoyed lunches at the Boat and Horses with a friend πŸ§‘β€πŸ’Ό
  • Lost weight and discovered new places to buy clothes from πŸ‘š
  • The joy of mid-week wine drinking – Malbec if you are wondering 🍷
  • Road-trips to Whitby, Oxford and Wye Valley πŸš™
  • Missing and remembering Ann, mother-in-law and her cooking which always covered in butter! πŸ˜‹
  • Virtually attending weekly comedy gigs with Sarah Millican and friends – check out her twitter for details 🀣
  • Bought a ticket to watch West Side Story at the Royal Exchange, really looking forward to it and then it was cancelled due to COVID-19 πŸ˜”
  • Started listening to Radio 2 🎡
  • Welcomed time spent with our volunteers and Peer Support Group members during lockdown – real people, real stories, real heroes πŸ˜„
  • Volunteered to paint benches at Blackley Crematorium πŸ™Žβ€β™€οΈ
  • Invested in digital gold and premium bonds – just trying to diversify our portfolio lol 🌏
  • As it’s October it means my Park Hamper vouchers are due back and then my Christmas shopping will be complete 🌲
  • Managed 2 trips to the Welsh valleys to see the family, missing them all but luckily have technology and skills to use face-time and social media – missing cwtches πŸ˜•
  • Pledged money to VCSE organisations that are making a difference to people’s lives πŸ‘
  • Still enjoying crunchy nut cornflakes
  • Discovered overnight porridge oats – really late to the game on this one! πŸ₯£
  • In awe of the work of VCSE organisations in Manchester during lockdown and now in recovery πŸ‘
  • Fed up with having days of feeling down and working long hours 😴
  • I love reading books and must make more time to read 🧐
  • If you like Pina Coladas and getting caught in the rain, so do I! Well, I prefer a margarita or two or a mohito 🍹
  • Rewatching Dr Who episodes with David Tennant – Bad Wolf Bay πŸ‘½
  • Having time off work has meant the hubster has spent more time on his photography and he doesn’t realise how good he is – https://tbayliss-photography.picfair.com/
  • Need to stop buying face coverings in different colours and styles 😷
  • And lived through a national lockdown and local restrictions – and now not sure if we are in Tier 2 or Tier 3 who knows!

And who knows what the next six months will bring…
