Ed Byrne looks like a man who’s just received terrible news about a parking ticket — and somehow turned it into a successful comedy career.

His entire vibe is “intelligent frustration.” He notices all the tiny annoyances everyone else ignores: self-checkouts, hotel kettles, impossible shampoo instructions. Watching him perform feels like listening to your smartest friend after two pints and a mild inconvenience.
And then there’s the hair.
At this point, Ed Byrne’s hairstyle deserves its own management team. It looks like he’s been electrocuted by Wi-Fi, yet somehow it’s become one of the most recognisable looks in British comedy.

What makes him great is that underneath the sarcasm, he’s oddly comforting. Like a man who’d help you move house while complaining about your choice of boxes.
In a world full of loud comedians, Ed Byrne just walks on stage looking mildly disappointed in humanity — and somehow that’s even funnier.
Definitely worth catching live 5* even though I did get motion sickness watching him!
