Growing up I enjoyed watching re-runs of Hawaii Five O starring Jack Lord and James McArthur. My sister and I would pretend to be one of the rowers in the opening scene every time we heard the theme tune.
In the early 90’s hubster and I were lucky enough to spend three weeks in Hawaii, loving both the island and the people. It was on Waikiki beach, watching the sunset that we got engaged and ended up chasing one of my trainers in the sea, as a sneaky wave had come in and washed it out.
Now the series has been revamped on Sky TV and yes, there I am again giving myself an asthma attack every time that theme tune comes on.
2013 is our 22nd anniversary of being together as a couple and Hawaii has and always will have fond memories for us.
I find it fascinating that a piece of music or a TV show can evoke such happy memories and actions that my body really shouldn’t do!
